setup & help guide

Everything you need to get your business running on capturepay, and how to reach a real person if you get stuck.

01

Getting started

Sign up at capturepay.store/get-started: your name, email, password, organization name, and a plan (Solo, Studio, or Agency). You’ll get a confirmation email; click it and you’re in.

You can pick an organization photo right after confirming, and change it anytime from Settings.

02

Company contact

Before you can create your first event, fill in Settings → company contact: a name, email, and phone number. This is what shows up on a family’s order confirmation so they have someone real to reach about a refund or any issue with their order.

03

Build your catalog

Items are the individual products a family can order: prints, digital downloads, add-ons. Group them with categories, which also controls the order they show up in on your storefront.

A package bundles items together, and you’ll assign one package to each event. An item can be marked multi-select (e.g. a 4-photo bundle a family distributes across shot types) or given priced add-ons.

05

Get paid

Settings → payments → connect stripe: each business connects its own Stripe account. Families pay you directly through your storefront; a small platform fee (set by your plan) is taken automatically. You’ll need to finish Stripe’s own short verification before payments can go through.

06

Add your team

Employees → invite employee: enter their name and email and they’ll get a real invite to set a password and join your account directly; they can’t create a separate account of their own. Mark someone as a photographer to route special-order alerts to them specifically.

Only the account owner can invite or remove employees, and only the owner can manage billing and payments. Everything else (events, items, orders, notes) is shared across your whole team.

07

Notifications

When a prepay link closes with a flagged (“special”) order on it, capturepay can email your team about it. Settings → notifications lets you turn this on or off separately for photographers and for other employees.

08

Plans & billing

Solo, Studio, and Agency differ in team size, catalog features (add-ons, note templates, custom branding), and platform fee. Upgrade anytime from Settings → billing & plan. No need to contact anyone.

09

Managing your account

Settings → danger zone: transfer ownership to a teammate who’s already joined, or delete your account. If you’re the owner, deleting your account deletes the whole organization; anyone else deleting theirs only removes their own access.
